Training Philosophy

Cheryl Bales has been a sports instructor for over a two decades teaching individuals how to increase their own performance abilities as well as motivate, influence, and instruct others. She can help you motivate, influence, and instruct your K9 athlete.

Cheryl believes the core to all learning (Human and K9) centers around the bond developed between the instructor and student. The bond is grown through elements such as mutual respect, knowledge, understanding, patience, trust, motivation and willingness to learn.

The basis of positive training, for both humans and animals, stems from the following sequence:

  • Request
  • Prompt (show)
  • Response (do)
  • Reward

In Team K9 sport classes, you will approach training from a mutual bond / team position. You will be the "Instructor" and your K9 will be the "Student" as you experience fun training through K9 sports.

No correction collars or negative reinforcement training is permitted.

You are a partner with your K9 teammate!
